With the much debated user-pays system still at the top of the news agenda, the National electronic Tolling Conference (NeTC) Forum is the perfect platform for local and international industry experts to come together and showcase solutions for the Australian market.
Hosted annually by ITS Australia and with major sponsors Kapsch and Cubic, this mustattend event will be held over two days in Brisbane from 25 - 26 May at the Stamford Plaza. More than 120 ITS professionals will attend and hear from speakers on a range of subjects including the latest road infrastructure projects and technologies from Australia, Asia, Europe and US.
The Forum theme of Smart City Tolling will see the 2016 program focus on smart city congestion solutions using emerging and connected ITS technologies; with road user and heavy vehicle charging, customer service and interoperability all being presented. Included with registration is the Q-Free sponsored NeTC Welcome Reception on Tuesday night, 24 May and Conference Dinner on Wednesday 25th which will provide excellent opportunities for networking and building valuable business partnerships.
Speaker Jack Opiola, Managing Partner, D’Artagnan Consulting is traveling from the US for the Forum.
“There is clearly insufficient money going into maintenance of roads – you’ve got volumes of traffic far greater than anyone anticipated and so a major infusion of funds is needed to overcome the wear and tear on the network”, Mr Opiola said.
ITS Australia Chief Executive Susan Harris said the annual NeTC meetings have grown enormously over the past 11 years to become a unique calendar event for Australia’s tolling industry executives.
“NeTC 2016 will continue to reflect the maturity of the tolling industry in Australia, where a great diversity of industry partners and competitors come together to share experiences and explore common challenges.
“This event is also an opportunity to highlight the national and international tolling debate which will be on the agenda at this year’s World Congress on Intelligent Transport Systems in Melbourne, October 10-14,” Ms Harris said.
NeTC 2016 is proudly supported by Kapsch, Cubic, Q-Free, Transurban and Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads. Registrations are now open to ITS professionals and given tickets usually sell out well in advance, those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible to secure their spot. ITS Australia members can take advantage of discount and special group rate concessions. For more information or to register, visit
