Hamed Benouar

Dr. Hamed Benouar is the Vice President of Business Development and Government Relations at Sensys Networks, the world leader in wireless vehicle detection systems. Prior to joining Sensys Networks, Hamed served as Director of the California Center for Innovative Transportation (CCIT), at the University of California, Berkeley (UCB). CCIT was established by the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) and UCB in 2001. CCIT facilitated the development, commercialization, and deployment of promising transportation technologies and systems.


Prior to UCB, Hamed spent many years at Caltrans in the new technology program and as Chief Traffic Engineer, overseeing the statewide Transportation Operations Program. This program included the management of more than 1,600 employees and the management and operations of 12 District Transportation Management Centers and more than 48,000 lane-miles of state highway system. Dr. Benouar is a Registered Professional Engineer and holds a Doctorate Degree in Engineering from UC Berkeley.
